Social Services Program Supervisor

• Ensure that the philosophy, policies and procedures mandated for social services are upheld in the day-to-day operation of the facility.
• Ensure an optimal level and quality of service is delivered by developing and implementing a short- and long-term plans for social services in consultation with the Health/Social Service Director.
• Develop and manage financial resources for social services programs by maintaining records, overseeing expenditures, seeking and obtaining available additional resources as needed.
• Ensure the development of new/current programs is consistent with community needs by monitoring and evaluating program goals and objectives, as well as identifying and responding to social service concerns.
• Provide overall leadership to social service staff, coordination of services, development, implementation and evaluation of programs.
• Perform all duties associated with the administration of Biigtigong Nishnaabeg program.

• A M.S.W. or M.A. in related field and registration as a Social Worker; or
• A Related Honours or bachelor’s degree and Registration as a S.W;
• Previous experience working in a First Nation community is an asset.

• Must have at least 2 years supervisor work experience.
• Must have 2 years work experience in counseling.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Child and Family Services Act and the Band Representatives role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Excellent and effective oral and written communication skills.
• Requires a flexible work schedule (attending evening and/or weekend meetings and events).
• Valid Class “G” driver’s license.
