The Student Youth Worker will provide employment related information, pre-employment training, placement support guidance to youth and employers in the YJC Summer program.
 
Duties include:
 
  • recruit youth and employers for the program,
  • develop and present pre and post-employment material to youth in program,
  • deliver training on a range of topics which could include employment skills, workplace safety, labour market information, job searching, resume writing and interviewing,
  • collect data in compliance with Ministry requirements,
  • maintain up-to-date files on youth and employers participating in the program,
  • represent the agency in the community where required,
  • conduct self/work in an ethical and professional manner,
  • identify barriers to employment and assist youth with follow through,
  • provide employment mentoring and coaching to youth in the program,
  • help youth to find an employment placement that matches their career interests,
  • provide youth in the program with links to additional supports as necessary, such as personal counselling,
  • provide placement support including monitoring on-the-job activity and facilitating problem solving,
  • provide support to youth during transition to education or other employment and educational agencies.
 
What you need to be successful:
 
  • studies in human services or a related field
  • experience working with youth from high-risk communities
  • equivalent experience and skill development will be considered
  • excellent problem solving, decision making and conflict resolution skills
  • computer literacy including accurate data entry
  • strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and knowledge and use of various social media platforms
  • demonstrated experience providing virtual and in person workshops, presentations, and public speaking
  • knowledge of career development strategies
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • strong time management skills
  • French language proficiency is an asset
  • must obtain Vulnerable Sector search upon hire (at own expense)
  • valid driver's license and daily access to a vehicle or equivalent mobility - must be willing to travel along North Shore dependant on Covid-19 restrictions.
 
This is a student position, $20/hr, 24 hours per week, required from April to August 2021.

A flight instructor to provide flight instruction from ab initio to the multi-engine instrument rating level, related pre- and post-flight briefings, Preparatory Ground Instruction, and flight simulator training.

A Flight Simulator System Specialist is responsible for maintaining and operating the mechanical, pneumatic and computer systems for the College flight simulators and research and implementation of new simulator technologies for the Aviation department. 

Curriculum Reviewer

The Curriculum Reviewer will support in the development of e-learning programming for Sault College.
