Reporting to the Service Manager, Kamloops and Williams Lake, the Supervisor, Service directs and supervises the Services function for the Kamloops branch. This position oversees the repair and maintenance of Komatsu and other OEM equipment. This position assigns work and allocates tradespeople’s time to best utilize available manpower. Responsibilities include guiding, supervising, and providing tradespeople with ongoing support in repair procedures and techniques.
 
Duties included, but not limited to:
 
  • Ensure that operational requirements are met by supervising, coordinating and scheduling tradespeople’s activities
  • Ensures compliance with safety rules and regulations to minimize industrial injuries and meet regulatory requirements
  • Provides leadership and guidance to subordinates
  • Keeps current on information and technology affecting functional area to increase innovation, and ensure compliance
  • Prepares and reviews technical reports and quotations as required
  • Maintaining and building customer relationships with a focus on satisfying customer needs and requirements
 
Qualifications
 
  • Journeyperson trade certification in a relevant field plus a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience as a qualified tradesperson
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience at a supervisory level within a heavy equipment dealership environment is preferred
  • Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong ability to plan, develop, coordinate, and direct detailed phases of mechanical functions including the performance.
  • Experience with Komatsu product lines and construction industry is preferred
