Position Summary and Responsibilities
 
The selected candidate will work within in integrated R&D engineering team responsible for supporting the design, development and implementation of a wide range of high value, high-tech 3D imaging and surveying (lidar) products. This includes involvement in the full product life cycle of these electronic and opto-mechanical systems from concept, design, analysis and testing to production implementation and customer support.
 
Responsibilities: 
 
  • Manage the design and verification process for assigned projects
  • Review customer requirements,specifications,statement of work andrelated data to determine engineering requirements
  • Develop system & subsystem specifications ensuring traceabilityto customer requirements
  • Development of vendor specifications
  • Development of verification plans,verification matrix and approve test plans and procedures
  • Develop system level architecture and block diagrams
  • Develop and maintain system and subsystem level budgets and error analysis
  • Develop and maintain material and parts usage lists and ensure all parts and materials conform to system requirements
  • Develop system and subsystem level interface control documents
  • Review and approve test plans, procedures and reports to ensure all deliverables conform to customer requirements
  • Ensure conformance to all Optech andcustomer quality assurance requirements such as: safety,reliability,maintainability,and failure modes and effects analysis
  • Prepare,review and approve all deliverable technical data including analysis,technical notes,drawings,specifications and other related technical project data
  • Conduct technical reviews as appropriate
  • Support program design reviews,project status reviews,planning activities
 
Qualifications
 
  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3-5years of experience with opto-electronic systems
  • Coding/prototyping/simulation using MATLAB, Python or equivalent
  • Geometric and radiometric camera calibration, as applied in photogrammetric applications
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems,work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact within a highly diverse, multidisciplinary team
  • Customer oriented,committed,team player,professional attitude,highly motivated,initiative,goal andaction oriented,ability to work under pressure
 
Highly Desirable Attributes
 
  • Experience with systems engineering process- requirements development, concept of operations, validation and verification, concept definition
  • Leadership qualities, excel in team situations- interacting with engineers of varied disciplines, coordinate contributionsand organize results into system design
  • Self-starter–has demonstratedinitiativein achieving goals, performs with minimum of supervision
  • Capablein multiple disciplines– has demonstrated a working knowledge of more than one engineering discipline such as optical, mechanical, electronics,software, etc.
  • Awareness ofvarious different agency standards– RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, IEC, etc.
 

Systems Engineer

Test and Integration Technician II

Uses measuring and diagnostic tools to inspect, test and modify electronic boards and assemblies, reporting and recording test results, performing subsystem acceptance testing and participate in system integration and debug at Teledyne Optech facilities and customer locations in a positive and professional manner.
