TECHNOLOGIST – DENTAL HYGIENE PROGRAM

$29.67/hour - up to 24 hours/week
Must be available Tuesday & Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Dental Hygienist registered in good standing with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO)
- Minimum 3 years of recent clinical experience including ultrasonics, periodontics, and infection prevention
- Authorized to self-initiate by the College of Dental Hygienists
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to use Dentrix and digital x-rays
- Available to work both days and evenings
- Formal training in educational theory and methodology an asset
- Current First Aid and CPR hcp
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and guide students in the Dental Hygiene program to meet the learning outcomes of skills and assessment courses in a clinic setting
- Plan, organize, and conduct demonstrations, explaining correct procedures, skills, and theoretical principles
- Demonstrates and enforces safe working habits and monitors students in the dental hygiene clinic
- Monitor student performance and make accurate observations and assessments related to students’ clinical abilities
- Ensure the clinic is set up with supplies and equipment, and safely maintain and operate all clinic equipment
Lead - Indigenous Poverty Reduction Education Program (IPREP)
- Responsible for project management support to the Manager of Community Based and Contract Training by using the Client Impact Model to implement the project
- Establish community out-reach and act as the primary liaison from the IPREP between the College, First Nation Communities, and employers

GENERALIST, ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT & TALENT MANAGEMENT
Reporting to the Director, Organizational Development & Talent Management (ODTM), the Generalist is accountable for providing a range of human resources functions supporting the College’s strategic plan and the implementation of short and long-term projects.
Technician – Dental Hygiene Program
- Collaborate with students and colleagues to provide an optimal learning environment
- Work with community agencies and dental offices to recruit patients for student clinical labs
Professor, Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship Program
- Deliver lessons covering Level 1 introductory level curriculum to Pre-Apprenticeship students over an eight-week period
- Teach theory in class and practical projects in the Commerce Court Campus lab
