Chemical Technician

- Classify, test (i.e. oxidation or pH) and determine chemical groups collected through our household hazardous and industrial waste collection programs
- Bulk inorganic and organic materials for shipment
- Sort and bulk pesticides for shipment
- Conduct inventory counts, label and prepare containers for shipment
- Work safely at all times by adhering to company policies, rules and procedures regarding health and safety
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Successful completion of a University or College program with a focus on Chemistry
- Previous experience working in an industrial setting is preferred
- Valid G class Driver’s license is an asset
- Previous forklift experience is also considered an asset but is not required
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including the use of a full face respirator
- You will be required to lift and carry up to 50lbs (i.e. move drums. carry totes and lift containers from drums)
- You will be required to stand and walk for long periods of time
- You will be required to work indoors and outdoors in all seasons and temperatures. Environmental conditions could include hot, cold, dirty, dusty, wet or noisy work areas
- Work as part of a team, effectively communicating with co-workers and your Supervisor

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the BRP Operator is responsible for transporting raw materials and recyclable materials throughout the plant.
As a Chemical Technician, your primary role is to sort and repack chemical hazardous waste within the facility.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be primarily responsible for industrial cleaning at various industrial locations throughout New Scotia.
Responsibilities include: Packing/bulking, loading, securing and transporting various waste streams throughout Ontario.
Reporting to the Sales Support Manager, the Customer Service Representative will be the initial point of contact for prospective and inactive customers to small automotive and manufacturing customers.
