Our Downtown Calgary office is a multidisciplinary team of designers, technologists, and engineers. We specialize in small to mid-sized projects for clients across Canada. The types of clients we work for include:

  • Municipal & Utilities
  • Water treatment 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Provide engineering support work to pipeline, compressor stations, launchers, receivers, dehydration stations, pump and regulator station upgrades, and all other piping projects
  • Ensuring project schedule, budget, and quality objectives are achieved for all assigned projects
  • Preparing or providing input for: project schedules, procurement plans, and project execution plans
  • Directly managing resources that have been assigned on a day-to-day basis, and interfacing with Client Managers or Discipline Managers regarding resource requirements
  • Ensuring Tetra Tech and Client Standards and Procedures are fully executed
  • Coordinating with the appropriate Discipline Manager for technical support
  • Reviewing potential scope changes and issuing change requests as required
  • Reviewing and approving invoices for their project(s)
  • Mentoring and development of direct reports
  • Responsible and accountable for continuous improvement of activities within your role
  • Project Managers are expected to take leading roles in sharing knowledge within the company and with clients
  • If assigned as a Client Manager by the Director of Projects:
  • Serving as a focal point for all high-level communications with the Client in order to ensure constant and consistent service. 
  • Ensuring that Client Standards & Procedures are up to date and that all team members are conversant with them.
  • Keeping the leadership team members informed regarding developments and opportunities with the Client. 
  • Accountable for building a strong working relationship with that client and encouraging other team members to do the same
  • Responsible for adhering to all health and safety policies and guidelines
  • Other duties as required
 
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
 
  • 10+ years of related experience in heavy industrial projects in Oil and Gas, preferably in an EPCM environment
  • A minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience, including significant experience leading multi-discipline projects, in a consulting engineering environment
  • A minimum 2 years of Project Management experience for the design of compressor stations for pipeline transmission systems. Preference will be given to experience working with TC Energy or Enbridge
  • Broad experience in Oil and natural gas facilities including:
  • Compressor Stations (centrifugal & rotary)
  • Gas Plants
  • Pump stations
  • Pipelines and Gas Processing experience
  • Business Development skills are highly valued
  • Broad knowledge of Engineering discipline functions
  • Knowledge and experience with Project Controls (Cost & Schedule)
  • Knowledge of procurement and contracting requirements for successul project execution
  • Experience with modular design projects is considered an asset
  • Construction support experience is considered an asset
  • Engineering and total installed cost (TIC) estimating experience
  • Strong technical background in at least one discipline along with a good general working knowledge of the remaining core disciplines
  • Must possess strong team leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
 
EDUCATION:
 
  • Professional Engineer status preferred (P.Eng.)
  • Project Management Professional status considered an asset
 
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
 
  • Travel within Western Canada periodically to client sites may be required
  • Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol screen
  • Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada
