Conceptualize and design footwear that meet trends and leverage the brand DNA of Style, Performance and Green for the consumers of your category. Bring the seasonal creative direction to life into the product briefs including functional, cost and aesthetic objectives. Develop an awareness and understanding of the footwear through all stages in the process including: Seasonal calendar milestones and other timelines Target consumer and wearing occasion Inspiration, style & product concept boards or sketches materials selection Color application and roll out Outsole CAD creation and review of technical mold drawings Last creation and development with last maker Managing and facilitating Pattern/Prototype review and revisions Collaborating with Development and Engineering for Fit and Quality Performance requirements like waterproofing and shoe making constructions Presentation of concepts and ideas throughout the process Cross functional communication with product management, development Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Industrial Design or related degree. 8-10 years of Footwear Product Design or equivalent product design experience. Candidate must possess strong organizational and communication skills both visual and verbal. The ability to work within a cross-functional team that supports Project Management and Development is also a necessity. The Senior Designer will manage multiple priorities from Development issues to creative problem solving as well as providing leadership and market experience to other designers. International or domestic travel may be required.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Research - Work within the parameters of the product briefs to support the category goals and objectives.  Continually expand knowledge of distribution channel and market trends to insure concept feasibility. Research extends to application and use of traditional and new materials, compounds and constructions when applicable.
  • Innovation and Conceptualization - Create two and three-dimensional sketches illustrating new, unique product ideas and concepts, which meet the expectations, delineated in the product brief.
  • Technical Package Development - In conjunction with a product developer, prepares the approved design into a package of two and/or three-dimensional information which adequately describes and utilizes current and feasible manufacturing and assembly techniques.  This package would also take into consideration performance, fit and costing objectives.
  • Documentation and Communication - Maintain and provide a clear form of documentation and communication with team members in order ease the transfer of the design solutions from concept through commercialization.
