Function
 
Reporting to the Executive Director of the UNB Associated Alumni, the Alumni Advancement Officer plays a lead role in the development and implementation of the Marketing and Communications strategy in support of the five-year Alumni Engagement Plan, and provides marketing and communications support to the Alumni office, including initiative-specific marketing communications campaigns and collateral. The successful incumbent will interact across all Advancement units including Communications, Marketing, Development and Donor Relations and Strategic Partnerships.
 
Representative Responsibilities
 
• Lead in the development, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive marketing and communications plan in support of the Alumni Engagement Strategy.
• Develop and report on measureable objectives for the Alumni Engagement Strategy.
• Lead the development of comprehensive marketing and communications materials for the Alumni Office in coordination with the Marketing and Communications departments. This would include social media, email marketing campaigns and print collateral for various activities such as Homecoming, Proudly UNB Awards, Strategic Advancement Events, etc.
• Maintain the UNB Associated Alumni website.
• Provide regular reports and updates on marketing and communications strategic objectives to various university stakeholders including the Associated Alumni Council.
• Other related duties as assigned in support of the Associated Alumni mission.
 
Requirements
 
• University degree, in marketing, communications, business or related discipline.
• Minimum eight years related strategic planning, marketing and communications experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Understand and demonstrate experience in marketing communications, marketing management, direct marketing, marketing research, brand management, and market segmentation.
• Demonstrated experience with modern marketing tools including social media and executing digital campaigns using automated marketing platforms. 
• Understand and demonstrate experience with strategy development, execution, measurement, and reporting.
• Detail oriented, highly organized, motivated and self-directed with excellent time management skills and the ability to advance multiple concurrent projects.
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
Ability to manage and build internal and external relationships and contribute to a positive working environment

Electron Microscopist/Confocal Microscopist

This position is responsible for operation and training of users of light (confocal, wide-field epifluorescence, and various transmitted light modalities) and electron beam (both transmission and scanning) microscopes in a multi-user facility.  Users are from throughout the Faculty of Science, as well as other fields and industry, but predominantly from the biological sciences.
