Superintendent, Mine Maintenance

- Establish an overall strategy for the maintenance and planning departments that will best utilize resources such as; cost, efficiency and reliability to support the business targets and priorities as laid out in the mine plan.
- Set and manage the department safety targets, goals, training and priorities.
- Lead, coach and mentor the Mine Maintenance team to ensure mining equipment availability and reliability targets are met or exceeded while controlling costs.
- Develop and direct the implementation to ensure adherence to operational programs, processes and policies as well as meet organizational governance requirements, standards and regulations.
- Set the maintenance operational budget using information from the overall mine budget and business plan.
- Provide top-level support and advice to the management team.
- Work with the management team to set the direction and establish the mid- to long-term operations and project development plans for the maintenance department which aligns with the business goals.
- Provide advice to the management team regarding the development and implementation of the overall site budget.
- Provide expert advice throughout the site on maintenance processes and practices.
- Identify options and implement KPI’s to track and adopt best practices for maintenance practices.
- Build an appropriate team through mentorship, recruitment and development of the team.
- Ensure that training is provided to align the current and future needs of the mine.
- Ensure the necessary manpower and equipment is in place to meet production goals, within budgeted costs.
- Provide clear work objectives and expectations of the performance levels required to achieve business objectives and production goals.
- Manage performance by setting expectations, conduct performance reviews and providing feedback and coaching to direct reports.
- Professional designation or certification in a related field such as a Heavy Duty Mechanics Trades Certification, Mechanical Engineer or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in the mining industry, a minimum of 5 years being at the General Foreman and/or Superintendent level.
- Solid working knowledge of maintenance methods (equipment repair), procedures & maintenance management.
- A sound knowledge of contracts and budgeting is a definite asset.
- Strong leadership and personnel development skills in a multi-cultural environment.
- Good understanding and working knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations for mining.
- The ability to resolve technical issues without external support; comprehensive/creative trouble shooting.
- Experience with Oracle or similar CMMS.
- Design and supervision of construction of geotechnical and hydrological structures such as foundations, slopes, excavations, diversion ditch, and dams;
- Investigation of ground instabilities and recommending and designing mitigation measures

To provide safe and cost-effective survey services, by way of design, plans, and measurement data that communicate critical mining instructions to operators and development results to engineers.
To provide administrative support and ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the mill office and related activities.
The purpose of the Mine Road Supervisor is to ensure all site service roads are maintained year round.
The purpose of the Supervisor Mine is to supervise the mine crew and ensure production targets and schedules are met as forecast.
The Senior Mining Engineer takes part in the development of economic studies of mining projects (approach, prefeasibility, feasibility).
To ensure optimization of the Mill process is maintained through effective management and technical support to the Operations group as well as external support groups including Mine Technical Services and Mine Operations.
As a member of the Global Supply Chain (GSC), the analyst will utilize your abilities to provide actionable recommendations to the leaders of the organization.
This position is responsible to manage all maintenance activities including; safety, execution, personnel, budget, planning and continuous improvement.
