Job Description
 
The Utility Administrator provides customer care support by responding to inquiries, keeping track of customer orders and services, creating invoices, and performing billing and collections under limited supervision. This position also carries out reception duties by presenting a professional and welcoming first contact to all visitors, in person and on the phone. Other duties include:
 
  • Accepting and preparing sewer applications, annual sewer utility billing, and other invoices; performing account maintenance using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) program
  • Preparing work orders, purchase orders, and tracking services for service contracts
  • Processing customer invoices for payment by entering invoice information into ERP program while validating accuracy of the invoice
  • Responding to customer service requests or directs requests of a more complex nature to the Customer Care Supervisor
  • Performing general office administrative tasks, including reception duties, maintaining and updating project files, filing and word processing, ordering of office supplies, and making service calls for equipment and facilities
  • Creating concise and clear communication materials (letters, memorandums, summaries, etc.) and presenting them in a professional and diplomatic manner
  • Corresponding with customers, lawyers, realtors, and City of Langford staff both verbally and in writing, reviewing and responding to referrals and information requests
 
Who You Are:
 
You are a high school graduate with two to three years of experience in customer service. You also have:
 
  • Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning software, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal, multi-tasking, prioritizing, and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Basic Accounting knowledge and strong mathematical skills
  • Geographical knowledge of western communities, in particular the City of Langford

District Energy Utility Operator
  • Maintain, monitor, adjust and control the process flow of various district energy systems to ensure safe and efficient operation and compliance with internal safety requirements, contractual obligations and external regulations.
  • Operate, inspect and service equipment in all district energy facilities, underground distribution piping and energy transfer stations at multiple sites, performing repairs, preventative and corrective maintenance as required.
Utility Administrator

Utility Operator Level 2

The Utility Operator operates and maintains a BNR wastewater facility, including septage receiving, sampling, analysis and maintenance of equipment to ensure water treatment, distribution, and/or wastewater treatment is performed as per regulatory, environmental and safety standards.
