Supporting a variety of job functions, the employee is responsible for performing the day to day manual tasks on the project. Taking directions from a Journeyman or Foreman, the employee must demonstrate sound work ethics and be able to perform a variety of physical tasks.
 
Requirements
 
Safety
  • Perform work in accordance with all organizational requirements, as well as provincial and federal health and safety standards and legislation, ensuring the highest standard of safety is upheld.
  • Participate in tailboard meetings, including identification of potential work site hazards
  • Report potential hazards to Foremen or Journeymen
  • Adhere to all company, client and industry-specific safety regulations
 
Labour

  • Adhere to all company, client and industry-specific safety regulations
  • Manual labour required to complete job tasks, including but not limited to: sweeping, shovelling, assembling and cleaning.
  • Provide manual labour assistance as required.
  • Ensure appropriate tools are transported to the worksite as required. Ensure proper functioning of all tools prior to utilization.
  • Ensure equipment and tools are safety stored
  • Safely operate basic hand and power tools including, but not limited to: skill saws, snow blowers, grinders and torque wrenches
  • All other duties as required by crews
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
 
  • Grade 12 Education would be considered an asset
  • DZ License required, AZ preferred
  • Experience working around heavy equipment would be considered an asset
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Valid WHMIS Certificate
  • Working at Heights Certificate considered an asset
  • Confined Space Training considered an asset

  • Effective verbal and listening communications skills and the ability to work with others.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to lift loads and equipment weighing in excess of 30 lbs using proper lifting techniques
  • Mechanical ability
  • Good physical coordination and manual dexterity
  • Good hearing and color vision
  • Be physically fit
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Self – starter with initiative
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work at heights up to 100 feet
  • Ability to work in varying extreme weather conditions
  • Wiliness to travel to various job locations across Canada
  • Physical endurance; must be competent with willingness to learn and adapt
  • Please note this job requires working long hours outside with concrete, dust, mud and water in adverse weather conditions
  • This is a GTA based position, out of our Concord office.
  • Local applicants, non-LOA position while working in GTA.

Reporting to the crew foreman this position has minimal experience in Telecommunications/ Construction.
