Wesdome Gold Mines is in its 30th year of continuous gold mining operations in Canada. The Company is 100% Canadian focused with a pipeline of projects in various stages of development. The Eagle River Complex is located approximately 50 km south of Highway 17 and 50 km West of Wawa, Ontario. We are currently producing gold from a central mill which processes ore from the Eagle River Underground Mine and the Mishi Open Pit Mine.
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
 
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources. The HR Coordinator acts as a supportive role all human resource department functions including full-cycle recruitment, maintaining employee records, providing administration and coordinating support in HR projects and initiatives, and maintaining confidential information within best practices.
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Duties and responsibilities include, but is not limited to:
  • Act as primary HR contact for employees and management at Eagle River Complex on various HR issues.
  •  Assist in responding to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance.
  •  Assisting with recruitment activities, onboarding, offboarding employees and exit interviews.
  • Support the recruitment/hiring process by sourcing candidates, performing background checks, assisting in shortlisting, issuing employment contracts, etc.
  • Attend job fairs and employee interaction within different communities.
  • Assist with documentation, filing and organization of HR department paperwork/online directories.
  • Educate and help enforce on all company policies, procedures and processes.
  • Assist in aspects of HR programs such as:
  • Performance Management
  • Compensation
  • Benefits
  • Health and Safety Management; and
  • Drug and Alcohol
  • Actively participate in the Joint Health & Safety Committee.
  • Liaise with other departments or functions (nurses, payroll, benefits etc.).
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events etc., coordinate training sessions, seminars and maintain the team’s agenda.
  • Assist with company events and onsite company activities.
  • Handle all other HR administration requirements under the direction of the HR Manager.
 
RELATIONSHIPS
  • The position will be required to ensure and sustain strong working relationship with:
  • ALL departments including mining, engineering, mill, maintenance and etc.
  • ALL employees – including Wesdome staff and on-Site contract staff.
  • Vendors for continuous working relationships.
  • Finance team members in the Sault office.
  • HR and Finance in the Corporate office in Toronto.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • General knowledge of applicable employment laws and practices.
  • Strong MS Office skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn a broad spectrum of tasks.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Human Resources in mining or construction industry preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to deadlines in an organized fashion.
 
SHIFT SCHEDULE
  • Camp position (not a fly in, fly out),
  • Working a 4 days on / 3 days off

IT Analyst

Junior Accountant

This position is accountable for supporting accounting processes as well as the processing of accounts payable in a manner consistent with established policies and procedures.

Senior Mine Geologist, Eagle River Mine
• Promote safe work practices and safety culture within a production-oriented environment.
• Maintain drill hole databases and monitor underground diamond drill programs.
• Supervise and participate in the selection of underground diamond drill targets.
Surface Maintenance (Hourly)

Ensure that all buildings, and infrastructures on Wesdome property, as well as roads, culverts, & bridges are properly maintained Work in a safe, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective manner.

Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic

Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible, as part of a team, for maintaining the equipment and mechanical systems of the Eagle River Mine site to ensure smooth and continuous operation.

Maintenance Planner
  • Reporting to the Maintenance Projects, Mobile & Mine Fixed Plant Superintendent
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety and environmental regulations and policies is of primary importance with this position.
Hoist Mechanic/Millwright

Reporting to the Eagle River Maintenance Planner or designate, the successful candidate will perform the maintenance and repairs of all surface, underground stationary equipment, long hole buggies, compressors rock breakers and pumps at the mine site.

Manager – Asset Management & Reliability

Reporting to the Mine General Manager, the Manger of Asset Management & Reliability will be an inspirational and innovative leader responsible and accountable for operational performance excellence in the Asset Management and Reliability Department.

Process Plant Maintenance Millwright (RED SEAL CERTIFCATION REQUIRED)
  • The Millwright is responsible for doing the maintenance of the milling operation equipment.
  • Reports to Lead hand Millwright and Mill General Foreman
Chief Mine Geologist, Eagle River Mine

The Chief Mine Geologist will be responsible and accountable for all work conducted by the Geology Department while ensuring the work is safe, cost effective and makes the most efficient use of manpower and materials.
