As the Manager, Human Resources (reporting to the VP Human Resources) you are responsible for ensuring that day to day HR functions run smoothly while being proactive and implementing leading edge HR programs. You have experience in project management, delivering results and ideally operating in a start-up type environment. Your well-rounded HR experience and people management skills make you the ideal candidate to take the Human Resources function to the next level as we restart our Kiena Mine in Val D’Or, Quebec.
 
This includes the following:
 
• Act as primary Corporate HR contact for employees and management at Kiena mine on various issues as they move into production in early 2021.
• Assist with the launch and maintenance of several key HR programs (Recruitment, Drug/Alcohol, Performance Management, Compensation, Training and Dev, Succession Planning).
• Coach managers and leaders on people practices related to development, performance and employee engagement activities.
• Lead change efforts to provide new insights and impact in the areas of employee development, leadership effectiveness, workplace effectiveness and other workplace culture programs.
• Own and implement up to date policies and guidelines for employees; create new programs and policies as required.
• Provide oversight into the recruitment process and provide recruitment support and advice for permanent hires, contract hires and internships; be a strategic sourcing partner and develop next generation recruitment practices; including on-boarding and integration into the business as well as managing recruitment tool implementation.
• Assist on design and implementation of HRIS tools as needed.
• Assist on delivering HR strategy where applicable.
• Assist in tracking workforce metrics and reporting on a regular basis.
 
EDUCATION
 
• Approximately 8-10 years progressive HR experience with a functional background in a variety of roles. Previous experience in the following HR areas is preferred; recruitment, policy development, employee relations oversight and compensation.
• A related diploma, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Management, Specializing in Human Resources (as asset).
• CHRP Designation (as asset)
 
COMPENTCIES & EXPERIENCE
 
• Strong oral and written communication skills – including proficient use of both English and French (fully Bilingual).
• Solid project management experience and proven delivery of several HR programs and/or projects.
• Experience running an HR function; developing strategies, creating and maintaining budgets, leading staff, service accountability.
• Experience with HR systems and recruitment tools.
• Computer savvy with experience in MS office products, internet tools, and spreadsheets.
• Ideally worked in a mining environment or similar type business.
• Be self-starting, motivated and driven.
• Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of an organization.
• Enthusiastic, passionate and a strong drive for success.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond to deadlines in an organized fashion.
• General knowledge of applicable employment laws and practices.
• Willingness to learn new tasks despite qualifications.
• A strong aptitude to managing and leading change.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to details.
 
LOCATION OF ROLE
 
• The role will be located at the Toronto head office (Bay/Wellington) with current COVID/remote working protocols in place for the short term (or as required).
 

IT Analyst

This position is responsible for supporting end-users primarily at our Eagle River Mine Complex.

Junior Accountant

This position is accountable for supporting accounting processes as well as the processing of accounts payable in a manner consistent with established policies and procedures.

Senior Mine Geologist, Eagle River Mine
• Promote safe work practices and safety culture within a production-oriented environment.
• Maintain drill hole databases and monitor underground diamond drill programs.
• Supervise and participate in the selection of underground diamond drill targets.
Surface Maintenance (Hourly)

Ensure that all buildings, and infrastructures on Wesdome property, as well as roads, culverts, & bridges are properly maintained Work in a safe, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective manner.

Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic

Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible, as part of a team, for maintaining the equipment and mechanical systems of the Eagle River Mine site to ensure smooth and continuous operation.

Maintenance Planner
  • Reporting to the Maintenance Projects, Mobile & Mine Fixed Plant Superintendent
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety and environmental regulations and policies is of primary importance with this position.
Hoist Mechanic/Millwright

Reporting to the Eagle River Maintenance Planner or designate, the successful candidate will perform the maintenance and repairs of all surface, underground stationary equipment, long hole buggies, compressors rock breakers and pumps at the mine site.

Manager – Asset Management & Reliability

Reporting to the Mine General Manager, the Manger of Asset Management & Reliability will be an inspirational and innovative leader responsible and accountable for operational performance excellence in the Asset Management and Reliability Department.

Process Plant Maintenance Millwright (RED SEAL CERTIFCATION REQUIRED)
  • The Millwright is responsible for doing the maintenance of the milling operation equipment.
  • Reports to Lead hand Millwright and Mill General Foreman
Chief Mine Geologist, Eagle River Mine

The Chief Mine Geologist will be responsible and accountable for all work conducted by the Geology Department while ensuring the work is safe, cost effective and makes the most efficient use of manpower and materials.
