Wesdome Gold Mines has had over 30 years of continuous gold mining operations in Canada. The Company is 100% Canadian focused with a pipeline of projects in various stages of development. The Company’s strategy is to build Canada’s next intermediate gold producer, producing 200,000+ ounces from two mines in Ontario and Quebec. The Eagle River Complex in Wawa, Ontario is currently producing gold from two mines, the Eagle River Underground Mine and the Mishi Open pit, from a central mill. Wesdome is actively exploring its brownfields asset, the Kiena Complex in Val d’Or, Quebec. The Kiena Complex is a fully permitted former mine with a 930-metre shaft and 2,000 tonne-per-day mill. The Company trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol “WDO”.
 
Summary
 
• Reporting to the Mill Manager, the successful applicant will be a champion of change, supporter of teamwork, and will play a significant role in promoting the development of technical expertise within the mill operations;
• Promote Health and Safety in the workplace; and compliance with company policies;
• Work with mill operations, maintenance, and electrical departments to ensure smooth and efficient process operation;
• Identify and promote continuous plant improvement in order to achieve and surpass metallurgical targets; and reduce operating costs.
• University degree in Chemical/Metallurgical Engineering from an accredited program;
• P.Eng. designation or in the process of obtaining designation would be an asset;
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written);
• Excellent organizational, time management and office management skills.

Responsibilities / Job Duties Performed
 
The following list forms a basis for the position's responsibility but does not necessarily encompass all the duties that may be required in the performance of the position.
• Provide day to day technical metallurgical support and coaching to mill operations;
• Evaluate metallurgical performance, set operating targets, develop and conduct plant survey and test work programs to improve mill performance;
• Review and update process mass and water balances;
• Prepare daily, and monthly metallurgical reports; and manage mill month end reporting requirements;
• Manage mill grinding media and reagent inventory;
• Develop, review and implement mill operating procedures;
• Update PFDs, review process control strategies and natives;
• Identify and participate in mill improvement projects;
• Participate in the development of yearly production, opex and capex budgets;
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with cross shift metallurgist to ensure continuous operational support;
• Participate in training programs (i.e. surface common core).
• Physically capable of carrying/lifting materials, walking/climbing stairs on a daily basis
• Ability to work 14 day on 14 day off rotation 12 hr. shifts.
 
Location of Role
 
The selected individual will be located at the Wesdome Eagle River Complex (see location in Company Information). This is a Mine camp environment and the schedule will align accordingly.

IT Analyst

This position is responsible for supporting end-users primarily at our Eagle River Mine Complex.

Junior Accountant

This position is accountable for supporting accounting processes as well as the processing of accounts payable in a manner consistent with established policies and procedures.

Senior Mine Geologist, Eagle River Mine
• Promote safe work practices and safety culture within a production-oriented environment.
• Maintain drill hole databases and monitor underground diamond drill programs.
• Supervise and participate in the selection of underground diamond drill targets.
Surface Maintenance (Hourly)

Ensure that all buildings, and infrastructures on Wesdome property, as well as roads, culverts, & bridges are properly maintained Work in a safe, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective manner.

Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic

Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible, as part of a team, for maintaining the equipment and mechanical systems of the Eagle River Mine site to ensure smooth and continuous operation.

Maintenance Planner
  • Reporting to the Maintenance Projects, Mobile & Mine Fixed Plant Superintendent
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety and environmental regulations and policies is of primary importance with this position.
Hoist Mechanic/Millwright

Reporting to the Eagle River Maintenance Planner or designate, the successful candidate will perform the maintenance and repairs of all surface, underground stationary equipment, long hole buggies, compressors rock breakers and pumps at the mine site.

Manager – Asset Management & Reliability

Reporting to the Mine General Manager, the Manger of Asset Management & Reliability will be an inspirational and innovative leader responsible and accountable for operational performance excellence in the Asset Management and Reliability Department.

Process Plant Maintenance Millwright (RED SEAL CERTIFCATION REQUIRED)
  • The Millwright is responsible for doing the maintenance of the milling operation equipment.
  • Reports to Lead hand Millwright and Mill General Foreman
Chief Mine Geologist, Eagle River Mine

The Chief Mine Geologist will be responsible and accountable for all work conducted by the Geology Department while ensuring the work is safe, cost effective and makes the most efficient use of manpower and materials.
