Wesdome Gold Mines has had over 30 years of continuous gold mining operations in Canada. The Company is 100% Canadian focused with a pipeline of projects in various stages of development. The Company’s strategy is to build Canada’s next intermediate gold producer, producing 200,000+ ounces from two mines in Ontario and Quebec. The Eagle River Complex in Wawa, Ontario is currently producing gold the Eagle River Underground Mine. Wesdome is actively exploring its brownfields asset, the Kiena Complex in Val d’Or, Quebec. The Kiena Complex is a fully permitted former mine with a 930-metre shaft and 2,000 tonne-per-day mill. The Company trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol “WDO”.
 
Responsibilities / Job Duties Performed
 
• Promote safe work practices and safety culture within a production-oriented environment.
• Maintain drill hole databases and monitor underground diamond drill programs.
• Supervise and participate in the selection of underground diamond drill targets.
• Assist in the supervision of grade control. Provide guidance and input to ensure development goals are achieved.
• Development of 3D geological models for diamond drill targets and production data.
• Oversee the timely production of post development grade control data.
• Communicate to and receive direction from the department head.
• Contribution to daily, weekly, and monthly meetings and reports as required.
• Participate in short and long-term mine planning.
• Assist with year-end resource and reserve calculations.
• Assist with stope reconciliations, dilution estimates, and grade forecasting.
 
Qualifications
 
• Bachelor of Science in Geology, Technician or Technologist Diploma in Geology (or equivalent) 5-10 years experience in the production mining environment with a competent understanding of geology’s roll within.
• Experience with geological software, converting drill data to cogent 3D for mine planning. Use of database software (Leapfrog, Deswik, Datamine) will be an asset.
• The ability to lead/guide others and communicate to other departments to achieving the company’s drilling and production goals.
• Professional registration or ability to register an asset.
 
Work Conditions
 
• This position is located at our Eagle River Mine location near Wawa, ON.
• In this role, you will work a 14-14 schedule and therefore you will be accommodated in our camp with all the amenities.

This position is accountable for supporting accounting processes as well as the processing of accounts payable in a manner consistent with established policies and procedures.

Surface Maintenance (Hourly)

Ensure that all buildings, and infrastructures on Wesdome property, as well as roads, culverts, & bridges are properly maintained Work in a safe, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective manner.

Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic

Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible, as part of a team, for maintaining the equipment and mechanical systems of the Eagle River Mine site to ensure smooth and continuous operation.

Maintenance Planner
  • Reporting to the Maintenance Projects, Mobile & Mine Fixed Plant Superintendent
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety and environmental regulations and policies is of primary importance with this position.
Hoist Mechanic/Millwright

Reporting to the Eagle River Maintenance Planner or designate, the successful candidate will perform the maintenance and repairs of all surface, underground stationary equipment, long hole buggies, compressors rock breakers and pumps at the mine site.

Manager – Asset Management & Reliability

Reporting to the Mine General Manager, the Manger of Asset Management & Reliability will be an inspirational and innovative leader responsible and accountable for operational performance excellence in the Asset Management and Reliability Department.

Process Plant Maintenance Millwright (RED SEAL CERTIFCATION REQUIRED)
  • The Millwright is responsible for doing the maintenance of the milling operation equipment.
  • Reports to Lead hand Millwright and Mill General Foreman
Chief Mine Geologist, Eagle River Mine

The Chief Mine Geologist will be responsible and accountable for all work conducted by the Geology Department while ensuring the work is safe, cost effective and makes the most efficient use of manpower and materials.
