The Gahcho Kué Project is an exciting new diamond mine under construction in the Northwest Territo-ries, Canada. De Beers Canada is seeking to till the following positions which will support the construc-tion and operation of the project.
 
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the primary purpose of the Site Services Superintendent is to oversee and manage all site service maintenance activities across the site. A main focus is to ensure best practices so that the safety, quality, efficiency and productivity of work are assured. The ideal candidate is one who is committed to safe working practices and strives for zero harm.
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Providing leadership to the Site Services team to provide effective maintenance activities throughout the site;
* Managing resources to maintain and enhance critical equipment performance and availability;
* Analyzing operational performance and identifying trends for proactive response and potential cost savings;
* Implementing actions to optimize maintenance process performance and attain efficiency targets in the areas of labour productivity, equipment utilization, and material consumption;
* Investigating special projects and making recommendations;
* Eliciting Safety, Health & Risk awareness at all times and ensure adherence to safety and loss control standards; and
* Establishing and maintaining sound working relationships with supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
 
Requirements:
* Engineering Degree (Mechanical), Engineering Diploma, or relevant Trades designation with ten (10) years related experience, preferably in Mining or Construction;
* Five (5) years relevant operations experience in the mining industry in a supervisory capacity, plus two (2) years in a project management capacity;
* Ability to prove your commitment to Safety, Health, & Risk, and Environment standards;
* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; and
* Experience working in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment is an asset.
