Education Required
 
M.Sc. or Ph.D. in chemistry and a min mum of 3 years experience with ICR, ICP-MS analytical equipment Other
 
Requirements
 
Excellent problem solving/analytical capabilities
 
Demonstrate strong organizational, prioritizing and nterpersonal skills, also, initiative, resourcefulness and drive
 
Ability to give suggestion and act on next plausible step when problems arise
 
Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and detail-oriented
 
Ability/desire to learn new analytical techniques quickly
 
Problem solver and provide suggestions and actions on the next plausible step
 
Strong computer and communication skills (verbal and written) in English
 
Self motivated and ability to work independently or as part of a group, with minimal supervision
 
Demonstrate willingness to put in the needed effort/time to meet company goals of improved TAT, quality and cost reduction
 
Responsibilities
 
May include some or all of the following; or any other tasks assigned directly or indirectly by the President
 
1. Perform root cause analysis and putting in place corrective and preventive actions of technical problems occurring within our processes, in order to improve our processes.
 
2. Research, development and validation of new methods of analysis or the improvement of current methods of analysis; Set up and execution of experiments.
 
3. Analyze data and generate final reports for non rout ne projects to be issued to clients.
 
4. Trouble-shoot, maintain and optimize the instruments.
 
5. Review instrument service tickets to assist with identifying retraining requ rements and needs.
 
6. Prepare and follow quality control procedures to meet ISO/IEC 17025 and CAN-P-1579.
 
7. Supervise analytical laboratory department staff for Research and Development projects.
 
8. Investigate and follow up on non-conformances and complaints to deliver effective corrective measures.
 
9. Research and develop new methods of analysis, complete with validation.
 
10. Author Quality Operating Procedures for new scientific equipment.
 
11. Review of reports.
 
12. Maintain a safe, clean and efficient work environment in accordance with policies and procedures.
 
13. Provide technical training and guidance to technicians.
 
14. Evaluate equipment and material suppliers and recommend vender for corporate contracts.
 
15. Perform Quality Control/Quality Assurance checks and audits for certification if required.
 
16. Oversee the implementation programming for data analysis.

Responsibilities The candidate will be required to mix dry chemicals, load trays into a furnace (working in a hot
environment) and pour samples. Strict adherences to safety procedures are required.
Technical – Agriculture Division/Life Sciences

Assist implementation and development of analytical testing services for Actlabs LifeSciences and Agiculture Division. Special emphasis will be placed on chromatographic and bench top methods.
