The business area innovates for sustainable productivity in infrastructure, civil works, oil and gas, energy, drilling and road construction projects. Principal product development and manufacturing units are located in Belgium, Germany, Sweden, the United States, China, India and Brazil.

In 2012, the business area had revenues of BSEK 12.9.

The market

The construction industry is the largest customer segment for the Construction Technique business area, with almost two thirds of annual business area revenues. Civil engineering contractors demand compaction and paving equipment, while special trade contractors and rental companies are important customers for light construction tools such as breakers, cutters, drills and handheld compaction equipment. Portable compressors and generators are used to provide power in various construction applications.

The mining and manufacturing industries are other important customer segments for the business area, with about 20% of sales combined.
