Communities
First Nations ownership communities consist of Weenusk , Attawapiskat , Fort Albany and Kashechewan , and is governed by a four member Board of Directors.
As a First Nations owned business, we are committed to the advancement of General Partnerships and Joint Ventures emphasizing on First Nation employment and subcontracting opportunities wherever possible.
CreeWest First Nation Education Award
CreeWest is committed to supporting First Nation post-secondary education. To this end, we have created the CreeWest First Nation Education Award. Eligible First Nation students entering or currently undertaking their post-secondary education can apply for one of four education awards of $500 each.
Attawapiskat
Attawapiskat is a First Nations community located on the James Bay coast in northern Ontario. On-reserve population was 1,549 as of the 2011 census.
Fort Albany
Fort Albany is a First Nations community located on the southern shore of the Albany River in northeastern Ontario. On-reserve population is approximately 900.
Kashechewan
Kashechewan is a First Nations community located on the northern shore of the Albany River in northern Ontario. On-reserve population is approximately 1,700.
Weenusk
Weenusk is an isolated First Nations community located in the Hudson Bay region of northern Ontario. Its population was 221 as of the 2006 census.
