Dyno Nobel Transportation Inc.

26 years of transport experience
We are a full-service carrier with decades of experience transporting explosives and hazardous materials throughout the United States (including Alaska) and Canada. We maintain a safety record that is one of the best in the industry because we hire only highly skilled, qualified drivers. Further, our fleet is maintained to meet or exceed strict DOT standards. We monitor our fleet through high-tech fleet tracking satellites.

You’ll find our rates are very competitive and we can haul non-hazardous materials as well on our backhaul. Our fleet is comprised of 547 units including 106 highway tractors, 303 van trailers and 138 tankers (pneumatic dry tankers, solution tankers, and dump & grain trailers.)

Safety and reliability are a measure of quality
You can count on your shipment to be safely delivered direct to your location: no transfers, layovers or intermediate terminals. Our damage claim rate is an industry-low of just 0001% (1 in 10,0000 shipments). All shipments are completely insured – from general coverage to the highest nuclear and explosive limits.

Information is the competitive edge in the transportation business
Our vehicles are monitored and logged by high-tech fleet tracking satellites across the continent. We guarantee that we can always locate your load within two hours of any inquiry. In addition, our drivers are constantly in touch with radio and/or cell phones to let us know any schedule changes.

We can confirm delivery times and handle delays/additional pickups or new drop destinations with ease. We know from experience that keeping track of our fleet translates into increased revenue through improved utilization.

Skilled drivers make the difference
Our drivers log about 12 million miles a year transporting more than 550 million pounds of material. Each of our drivers meet strict qualification requirements and undergo periodic drug screening and background checks. We clearly understand that safety is about people and our drivers receive comprehensive field and classroom training, in addition to continuous physical and psychological screening.

We are always looking for skilled professional drivers. (HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements needed on CDL Class A drivers licenses.)

Alliances

Sandvik and Dyno Nobel Alliance
Dyno Nobel and Sandvik entered into an alliance originally in 2003 with the North American Agreement signed 2007. Both companies have expertise in particular areas of mineral extraction, drilling, blasting, crushing, sizing, and processing. By sharing this knowledge and working together to understand the relationship and impact of one process to the other, we can add significantly more value for our customers together than independently.

Several key areas of focus for the Alliance are education within the industry, field case work, technology development, and a focus on safety promotion and programs.

By looking across the entire mineral extraction “value chain”, working together, and focusing on better products, applications and education, the Alliance can bring the right people and information together to provide real value to our customers.

The Quarry Academy is just one example of how Sandvik and Dyno Nobel help our customers meet their challenges.

Improving process efficiencies and profitability is what the Quarry Academy is all about. After many years, the innovative alliance between the North American divisions of Sandvik Mining and Construction and Dyno Nobel continue their efforts to improve efficiency in mining and quarry operations.
