High Strength Plates and Profiles

Single Handling Drilling & Cutting

Jun 26, 2014

Our revolutionary machines, the Farley Atlas and the HSPP Guardian, allow for single handling set ups for a variety of operations. We put the plate down once, cut and drill the parts, then unload the table. One set up, multiple steps.

Laser-aligned plates rest on a water-cooled bed, while the gantry head travels around them performing CNC operations.  An automatic tool changer provides efficient, accurate drilling, counterboring, countersinking and tapping, using a 30 horsepower, 50 taper spindle.  Other machines might offer multi-step operations, but few are designed to stand up to full time precision work in high hardness steel up to 600 BHN.  These machines are ideal for liner plates, often producing in a single shift what it would take a profile cutter working with a radial arm drill multiple shifts to complete.
