To limit urban expansion, reconstruction of existing urban areas (brownfield sites) is increasingly demanded. In this context, the use of COLETANCHE® on natural or man-made contaminated sites (radon, old landfill, former industrial or mining sites, etc.) makes them suitable for the construction of buildings or infrastructure. Installed before foundations or asphalt paving, COLETANCHE® provides a superior gas-tight barrier thus preserving the air quality of overlying buildings.

 
Unique waterproofing guaranteeing the integrity of the works
 
COLETANCHE® is installed directly on the supporting substrate and can easily be bonded to details (inlets, outlets …). Welding is possible to all details (concrete, steel, PVC…) and in sensitive areas (where flammable gas is present, for example) due to the hot air technique. The flexibility of the membrane means that it can easily seal the most inaccessible locations.

 
A biogas barrier superior to polymeric geomembranes


 
Gas impermeability of the COLETANCHE® bituminous geomembrane is 1000 times greater than that of a polymer geomembrane.
 

Simple and rapid installation
 
COLETANCHE® installation requires no special tools. The welds are made using a gas torch, with or without a hidden flame, or with hot air with an overlap of 20 cm.

High dimensional stability
 
COLETANCHE®, unlike polymeric geomembranes, remains flat without creasing whatever the temperature. It suffers no fatigue phenomenon to expansion. Concrete can be laid directly on the geomembrane, without risk of creasing or chemical reaction.


Excellent resistance to puncture by aggregates
 
COLETANCHE® ES2, ES3, NTP3-NTP4 can be installed directly on embankments with a particle size of less than 60mm without additional geotextile layers. This is due to the thickness of COLETANCHE® and its integral reinforcement.
