The United Supply Group acknowledges that Occupational health and safety is a cross-disciplinary area concerned with protecting the safety, health and welfare of people engaged in work or employment. The goals of occupational health and safety programs include to foster a safe and healthy work environment. To achieve this protection the company and all workers must fulfill their health and safety responsibilities. The United Supply Group is committed to the protection from occupational illness and injury of all workers’ associated with our company. The United Supply Group employs 1 full time Health and Safety Co-ordinator and 1 full time Health and Safety Training Represenative to promote and maintain the highest degree of physical, mental and social well-being of workers in all occupations.

Company Responsibilities:
 
  • Managers and supervisors must provide and maintain a safe and healthy working environment by means of training, policies, programs and procedures that meet or exceed legislative requirements and industry standards.  They must ensure that the requirements for a safe and healthy work environment are met and maintained.
  • Managers and supervisors must hold all workers accountable for fulfilling their health and safety responsibilities.  They must enforce safe work practices by wage and contract workers.
  • Managers and supervisors must provide worker safety orientation and training so that workers know and understand safe work procedures, are aware of hazards and the safe practices to control hazards and know their duties under law.
 
 
Worker Responsibilities:
 
  • Follow factory safety rules and safe work practices, wear appropriate personal protective equipment and work safely.
  • Comply with our health and safety programs, the occupational health and safety act and regulations.
  • Report all unsafe and unhealthy conditions to their supervisor / manager, strive to control hazards and help one another to work safely.
