To support our recent and ongoing growth, JLR’s team is looking to add Architects to augment and round out our team. We’re looking for talented and creative people to support both business development and delivery activities, and proven or emerging leaders to develop and manage our clients and projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

Collaborating with team members as part of an integrated project team, including execution, design, and reporting;
Engaging through all project stages, from definition, through planning, design, and construction using your demonstrated abilities to recognize opportunities, understand client needs and manage and deliver projects;
Architectural design and contract administration related to a variety of commercial, institutional, and industrial construction projects.
Carrying out visits to construction sites and reporting on observations;
Liaising with clients, engagement and leadership of business and client development activities;
Participating in the preparation of proposals, reports, specifications, contract documents and budget estimates; and
Travel between JLR offices across Ontario and Canada, as required, to meet the needs of various projects and/or for training purposes.

Skills and Qualifications

Graduate of a recognized Architecture degree program;
Licensed Architect registered and in good standing with the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA);
7 – 10 years of relevant experience with a portfolio demonstrating built work in the commercial and institutional sector;
Experience in the industrial field would be considered an asset;
Expertise in contract administration, specifically in the use of the CCDC 2 2008 contract;
Strong understanding of project delivery and budget awareness;
Strong understanding of the Ontario Building Code;
Expertise in writing specifications;
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite;
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
Excellent presentation skills;
Excellent writing skills for reports, proposal submissions;
Self-motivated and ambitious with the ability to work independently;
Organized with the ability to manage time, deliverables, budgets, and personnel;
Possess a full understanding of building science, construction materials, construction methods, and architectural detailing;
Ability to manage the production and delivery of construction documents;
Ability to work within a team environment and manage a project team made up of architects, engineers, and planners; and
Vehicle and a valid Class driver’s license.
