The Exploration Geologist role offers an exceptional opportunity to take on a mentorship role within the exploration team, providing expertise in the practical application of software, drill target generation, geologic interpretation, cost tracking/monitoring and contractor management or procurement.
 
Key result areas in this role include:
 
  • Work with the Senior Exploration Geologist to develop a strategic exploration plan and budget to contribute reserves and resources to the life of mine production profile at Red Lake Gold Operation.
  • Oversee that the practices and processes pertaining to your project or area adhere to industry exploration best practices and are NI 43-101 compliant, for example QA/QC practices for assaying and diamond drilling.
  • Liaise with production geology, resource geology, engineering, contractors and environmental teams fostering good communication and teamwork.
  • Assist with completing weekly, monthly and quarterly exploration geology reports and monthly budgeting reports.
  • Assist with detailed exploration budget using cross sections, 3D models, engineering input, cost estimates, etc.
  • Prioritize exploration targets in your area and rank them to be compared against others within Evolution’s portfolio.
 
As an Exploration Geologist, you will have minimum of Bachelor of Science degree in Geology. A minimum of 5 years experience is required and a Master’s degree is considered an asset.
 
It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:
 
  • Must be registered as a Professional Geologist and eligible to switch registration to Ontario if required
  • Specific experience in gold exploration/mining in Archean greenstone terrain is preferred
  • Able to understand and interpret technical language
  • Proficient with logging database software (AcQuire) and other software (DataMine, Deswick and Leapfrog)
  • Highly skilled at 3D modeling
  • Sound background in QA/QC
  • Relevant experience in underground mapping procedures
  • Solid understanding of sampling processes
  • Strong knowledge of statistics and resource estimation process

Project Assistant

Creation and entry of purchase orders, entry of packing slips/tickets, expense report submissions and reconciliation/closeout support of purchase orders into Valard Systems, payroll issue support, communicating with site and corporate payroll.

LAND PROTOCOLS COORDINATOR (Multi-year term)

This position will be responsible for coordination activities of the Land Protocols team and Elders Advisory Committee, coordination of procurement, shipment, tracking and distribution of supplies for land protocols work, creation of gift bundles, coordinating activities with communities, Wataynikaneyap Power, the First Nations Limited Partnership (FNLP) and the First Nations Partners service company (OSLP) and arrange for in-community assistance to the Land Protocols team.
