Emerson has an immediate opening for an Industrial-Commercial Compression Specialist reporting to the Director of Business Development and Solutions Strategy. In this position, you will be responsible for engaging the contractor, engineering and end-user community to support the application and integration of Emerson (Vilter & Copeland) technology in large scale industrial-Commercial systems and solutions. The position will also drive various projects and initiatives to enhance the customer experience and drive our continued industry leadership.

Major Areas of Accountability
 
Primary: Work with the contractor and engineering consulting/design community to integrate Vilter/Copeland technology and solutions into large industrial & commercial refrigeration projects.
 
Secondary: Actively contribute to commercialization and innovation efforts to accelerate break-out technology developments.
 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Business Development
  • Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging one’s network
  • Work with team to develop proposals that deliver customer value
  • Participate in pricing solution/service offerings
  • Work with Refrigeration customers to deliver unique solutions
  • Lead industry change
  • Business Development Planning
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends
  • Understand and synthesize ecosystem changes with a view to developing new products, solutions, services and business models
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns or other unique engagement approaches
  • Actively contribute expertise, ideas and business intelligence to the larger team to help drive continuous improvement and business growth
  • Account Development
  • Work with existing customers to continue to develop solutions that help them solve challenges/needs
  • Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs
  • Engineering Support
  • Deliver a best-in class application engineering support experience where assistance is required to integrate Emerson technology within broader system
  • Perform/verify compressor and equipment selections
  • Make technical recommendations, challenge conventional thinking
  • Support the business case/economics
  • Help navigate technical questions
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve technical issues
  • Be an expert in compression technologies
  • Advisory Services
  • Conduct/participate in technical training
  • Assist in technical troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Participate in joint calls with other Emerson team members and divisions
  • Represent Emerson in industry associations and memberships
  • Participate in Stewardship activities
  • Help support Emerson Specification
  • Management and Team Success
  • Ensure that ongoing customer and market intelligence is shared within the team
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s CRM or other sales management system
  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet targets
  • Ensure all team members represent the company in the best light
  • Present business development training and mentoring to business developers and other internal staff
 
Requirements
 
  • Minimum 10 years' experience with Industrial & Commercial Refrigeration
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Sales and/or Business Development
  • Working knowledge of scroll, screw, or reciprocating compression technologies
  • Knowledge/experience with large industrial systems
  • Willingness to grow, learn, develop and take-on new challenges
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
