The Opportunity
 
Responsible for accounting for Floor Plan financing transactions, including tracking and issuing payments for inventory, and processing the consignment inventory payable transactions.
 
The Role
 
  • Manage the Floor Plan financing relationship with the financing companies, including tracking all inventory transactions submitted for financing, ensuring that the payment terms are accurately followed, as well as overall compliance with the policy.
  • Support person for the branch and Controller- ensuring the branches communicated any necessary transactions, and that the inventory procurement and payment process is followed.
  • Lead person responsible for any supplier or financing audits- including obtaining all the necessary documentation required by the auditor, ensuring that the information is complete, all inventory is accounted for, and in compliance with agreement.
  • Reconcile related account balances, and investigate any variances with the supplier or financing company statements.
  • AP settlements of consignment equipment inventory.
  • Prepare related journal entries for the Floor Plan financing transactions on a monthly basis.
  • Manage the purchase authorization process- ensure all relevant support is attached and provided to VP for approval as well as track outstanding requisitions.
  • Support for physical equipment inventory counts- provide instructions to branches on procedures, follow up on variances.
  • Assist with the weekly cash flow forecast regarding Floor Plan financing payments and consignment inventory payments.
  • Provide recommendations on improving current process and continued focus on process improvements.
 
The Candidate
 
Education: University Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
 
Work Experience: 3-4 years; experience in floor plan financing or accounts payable management of a key vendor considered an asset.
 
Knowledge:  Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge; beginner to intermediate Microsoft Access knowledge would be an asset.
