As a key member of the Wajax Industrial Components team, the Technical Sales Representative - Hydraulic will be responsible for the selling and marketing of Wajax hydraulic products and for achieving annual sales targets. This individual will be responsible for the development of the sales strategy and plan, including customer target accounts, prospecting, sales lead follow-up and maintaining a strong relationship with existing customers. He/she will ensure customer satisfaction is met and exceeded through the delivery of technical advice and support, troubleshooting and providing resolution to inquiries as they arise.

 
Position Requirements 
 
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

Sales Generation 
• Undertake sales planning and develop sales strategies through market analysis.
• Continually grow customer base and sales opportunities through the development of strong working relationships with current and prospective clients, the delivery of excellent customer service and exceptional product and application knowledge. 
• Continually source and prospect new clients; conducting sales calls including cold calls and lead and referral follow up to present product solutions and increase sales in assigned territory.
• Perform various other prospecting activities including market overviews and client project analysis in order to provide appropriate product solutions.
• Conduct follow up with customers on orders, quotes and service requested; undertaking activities to ensure the sale, such as sourcing of competitor information and analysis of competitor product offerings, application and pricing in order to overcome client objections.  
• Conduct lunch and learns in order to promote and sell principal products.
• Follow up customer orders with inside sales to ensure delivery, potential delays or other issues are appropriately and pre-emptively addressed.
• Review projects to ensure adherence to established timelines and deadlines, providing updates as required. 
• Travel to customer locations in order to deliver sales meetings; conducting technical presentations and demonstrations. 
• Liaise with sales staff, suppliers, and branches in order to gather pertinent information and facilitate a unified sales effort. 
• Develop proposals and quotes based upon client needs, specifications and product offerings. 
 
Customer Service and Technical Support 
• Ensure all customer needs are met and exceeded, providing technical support, advice, troubleshooting as well as product and application expertise as requested. 
• Assist customers with start-up and commissioning of sold products. 
• Provide customer assistance with respect to delivery, breakdowns or required repair of products. 
• Develop and maintain lasting relationships with clients, sales representatives, suppliers, principals and other relevant parties; formally responding to and addressing inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
• Conduct product specific training seminars for new employees as required. 
• Provide customers with technical advice and solutions based upon product offerings. 
 
Additional Responsibilities 
• Attend monthly meetings (including engineering meetings). 
• Produce regular sales and supplier reports.
• Provide Order Desk coverage and support as required. 
• Perform various additional duties, as required.
