Health, Safety, Environment & Community

Aug 14, 2013
Dyno Nobel believes that optimizing safety, health and environment (HSE) performance are core values of our organization. Injuries, illnesses and environmental damage are not an inevitable or expected consequence of conducting business and we are committed to eliminating these negative outcomes. We call this commitment Zero Harm (For Everyone, Everywhere) and Care for the Community and the Environment. This is our vision and goal. See the complete program in our HSE Management System document.

Zero Harm means zero recordable occupational illness, injuries, fatalities, preventable transportation incidents, environmental releases and process events. It encompasses all IPL employees and our contractors, vendors and business partners. It means reaching our goal and going beyond it by sustaining zero, but also by taking our focus on HSE beyond the workplace and into our homes and communities. Zero Harm means integrating HSE into all aspects of our lives and into everything we do as individuals and as an organization.

Our Commitment to Sustainability: In 2010, Dyno Nobel’s owners, Incitec Pivot Limited, approved a sustainability strategy to use ‘sustainability’ as a tool to think more broadly across all aspects of our business. Driven by our Vision “To be the best in our markets, delivering Zero Harm and outstanding business performance through our people, our culture and our customer focus”, we recognize that sustainable growth requires us to balance our economic performance with our environmental and social responsibilities which include being a good corporate citizen and operating ethically. Our approach to sustainability extends to workplace health and safety, environmental impacts and resource efficiency, community impact and engagement, labor practics and our products and services. Find out more in our 2012 Sustainability Report.
