Flemish Gold Corp. is currently a private Canadian company with subsidiaries in Burundi (Flemish Investments Burundi) and Uganda (Flemish Investments Uganda) whose strategy is to explore and develop mineral properties of merit in East Africa. Flemish has a strong, experienced management team with a focused approach to exploration and a history of discoveries.
Why Burundy and Uganda
Flemish Gold Corp. has a large land package of 4,300 square kilometers in Burundi covered by 4 exploration licences in highly favourable geology--the Burundian Super Group--the NE extension of the Kibaran Belt that hosts the over 10 million ounce Twangiza gold deposit held by Banro in nearby DRC. Flemish Gold Corp. has control of an 85 kilometers long quartzite formation in a highly prospective area with extensive artisanal gold and tungsten mining activity. Flemish has identified numerous targets.
The company is a first mover and well established and experienced in East Africa with its Muhwazi licence located some 18 kilometers from Xstrata-Barrick's Kabanga nickel deposit. Flemish Gold Corp. has a sizeable land package in Uganda of 1,575 square kilometers covered by 5 exploration licences in an area with large mafic and ultramafic bodies that management believes are prospective for nickel, cobalt, and copper based on favourable geochemical anomalies and geophysical results to date.
