Event Details
The Annual Show is the highlight of our year, and the fundraiser which keeps the workshop functioning.The venue is filled to capacity with dealers, customers and onlookers. Where else can one shop for some of the best gemstones and minerals in the world offered at very reasonable prices. In addition to dealers, the show features demonstrations, displays, seminars and informal gemstone evaluations.
4th Annual OLMC Gem and Mineral Show
September 19th and 20th, 2020, at the Nepean Sportsplex, in Ottawa. Sat. 10 am - 6 pm, Sun. 10 am - 5 pm. Door Prizes. There are over 60 dealers and exhibitors with gemstones, minerals, fossils, jewellery, crystals, beads, equipment, carvings and so much more. Plus, the OLMC will host colourful displays, demonstrations and hands-on activities, and mineral and gem identification.
Entrance Fees:
General Admission: $8.00
12yrs & under, Free
Sportsplex Location:
The Nepean Sportsplex is located at 1701 Woodroffe Avenue north of the Ottawa Greenbelt, near the former Confederation High School along OC Transpo route 95.
Parking:
Parking is free at the Sportsplex, though the asphalt is in need of repair in some places.
Food and Beverages:
The club will make a request to the contracting company that the restaurant beside the curling rink will be open on that weekend.
Mining Matters
Mining Matters is a charitable organization dedicated to educating young people to develop knowledge and awareness of Earth sciences, the minerals industry, and their roles in society. The organization provides current information about rocks, minerals, metals, mining and the diverse career opportunities available in the minerals industry. Mining Matters offers exceptional educational resources that meet provincial curriculum expectations, created by educators and Earth science experts.
