Geological Association of Canada (GAC)
GAC-MAC London 2021
Event Details

The premier annual geoscience conference in Canada over the last 30 years has been organized by the Geological Association of Canada (GAC®), in concert with the Mineralogical Association of Canada (MAC). The two associations have long enjoyed a close relationship, and have united Canadian earth sciences annually at GAC-MAC, a formal gathering of the best geological minds in the country.

In accordance with the general slogan of our annual joint meeting “Exploring Geosciences Through Time and Space”, we invite you to submit proposals for contributions on four conference themes:

• Earth and Planetary Systems
• Life, Climate and Environment
• Tectonic Processes and Geohazards
• Resource Geoscience

Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that The University of Western Ontario is located on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, Lūnaapéewak and Attawandaron peoples, on lands connected with the London Township and Sombra Treaties of 1796 and the Dish with One Spoon Covenant Wampum. This land continues to be home to diverse Indigenous peoples whom we recognize as contemporary stewards of the land and vital contributors to our society.

Call for Proposals

We are developing a rich, diverse, and exciting program for GAC-MAC 2021 – but we need your help!  We welcome submissions for Special Sessions, Symposia, Short Courses, Workshops, and Field Trips. Submission deadline is September 15, 2020.

We intend GAC-MAC London 2021 to be a primarily in-person meeting, but please take note of the question in the Call for Proposals on the possibility of a virtual format – either in part or in full – for your submission should the need arise.
