Working at Heights Training
Event Details
Working at Heights (Fall Protection Group Inc.'s Chief Prevention Officer (CPO) Approved Program for Construction in Ontario)
Employers must ensure that certain workers complete a working at heights training program that has been approved by the Chief Prevention Officer (CPO) and delivered by a CPO approved training provider before they can work at heights.
The training requirement is for workers on construction projects who use any of the following methods of fall protection: travel restraint systems, fall restricting systems, fall arrest systems, safety nets and work belts or safety belts.
Fall Protection Training
Each course meets all relevant government and industry standards and all trainers have been certified. Training courses include both classroom and practical (hands-on) segments, review/recap of materials discussed, question & answer periods and a written evaluation. Upon successful completion, each participant receives a certificate and record of training.
Training can be conducted at our on site multimedia facilities or at individual customer worksites. Customized courses to meet individual company needs are available upon request.
Length of Course: approximately 8 hours
Purpose:
To provide information and awareness on all aspects of the working-at-heights environment including an understanding of equipment and fall protection issues.

What is Fall Protection
Review Legislation: O.H.S.A., Ontario Regulations & C.S.A. Standards
Fall Protection Fundamentals: Fall Protection, Fall Restraint, Fall Arrest Anchorages, Body Support, Connectors,Descent/Rescue
Equipment Care & Inspections: Harness Inspections, Annual Requirements
Practical Training Topics Include:
Pre-use Inspection
Proper fitting and donning of a harness
The Key Components of Every Personal Fall Arrest System:
1. Anchorage
A secure point of attachment (structure) for the fall arrest system. Commonly referred to as a tie-off point (e. I-beam).
2. Body Support
A full body harness provides a connection point on the worker for the personal fall arrest system.
3. Connectors
Devices used to connect the worker`s full body harness to the anchorage system (eg. energy absorbing lanyard, self retracting lifeline, etc.).
4. Descent (Rescue)
