Tunneling Projects

MineARC Systems specialises in designing and custom building refuge chambers for use in the tunnelling and underground construction industries. These life-preserving chambers in many respects perform the exact same functions as MineARC's standard mine refuge chambers, except however, they can also be custom-designed and built to meet the specific needs of individual tunnelling/construction projects. For example, chambers can be provided in the form of a TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) fitted gantry model, a customised Hard-Rock model, or as rail-mounted towable units.

 

Depending on the client's requirements, MineARC refuge chambers can be modified to also include bunk-beds and seating for up to 30 people. Each chamber includes a self contained toilet with privacy area, with optional hand washing facilities. Other options include a water cooler, refrigerator, kitchen appliances, air conditioning, and a 2500kg battery pack to run the whole unit should external power be disconnected. Essentially, the chambers can be customised into fully-serviced rest quarters for underground personnel.

MineARC can design and manufacture each chamber to meet a project’s specific needs, without compromising on occupancy potential or safety. MineARC is on-hand during the entire project-planning and TBM design phases to ensure the best possible safety solution.
