GE Commtest

Commtest was incorporated into the Bently Nevada, and wider General Electric organisation in 2011. Now under the GE Measurement & Control division, we continue to be world leading designers of machinery health information systems. We're passionate about creating simple, intelligent systems that give our customers access to the information they need to keep their machinery operating in optimum condition and meet corporate goals.

We develop and produce vibration analysis and monitoring instruments. Vibration analysis detects early precursors to failure, enabling machinery repair or replacement before expensive failures occur. Our systems make the health of machinery accessible to people by providing intelligent solutions through simple functionality at low cost.

Commtest grew out of the Research & Development department of a technology company. Although we have grown considerably, the culture of prototyping and innovation remains a core part of who we are.

Combining emerging technology and design trends has proven a powerful combination for us and our customers. Commtest-branded products are used by innovative companies in major industries in over 50 countries.

Technology

We're committed to driving the leading edge of condition monitoring technology to maintain our competitive edge in this evolving field.

To maintain our premier position, we continue to invest in specialized in-house engineering facilities, software and firmware development, circuit-level hardware design, prototyping, and product assembly. Our mechanical design processes include 3D rendering of metals and plastics, sensor and transducer development, and custom fabrication capabilities.

An extraordinary level of investment technology, research, and development is channelled into every new product, to ensure all materials, designs, and internal processes conform to strict Quality Assurance requirements. Our integrated approach to design, production, and testing enables new products to transition smoothly from blueprint to assembly line with remarkable speed, to adapt to the demands of the market and our customers.

The advanced instruments that result from this approach contain a selection of hand-picked, state-of-the-art components from world-renowned manufacturers such as Analog Devices, Samsung, and Toradex. Our instruments and software also utilize reliable technologies from companies such as Microsoft and Borland.

Research and development, hardware and software design, testing, and production all take place at our specialized technology facility in Christchurch, New Zealand. Here, each instrument is assembled and hand-tested to guarantee maximum quality and reliability. Repairs and calibrations are also conducted at this facility to ensure expert workmanship and a swift turnaround.

Integrating science and technology with customer-focused design means we focus on new technologies, elegant design, quality production, and superior customer support. We look ahead at global, industrial, and economic trends and emerging technology to build solutions that will solve customers' problems now and in the future.
