February 18, 2018 GOWEST GOLD, signs concentrate sale agreement for Bradshaw Deposit

Gowest Gold Ltd.  (TSX VENTURE: GWA) last week announced signed an agreement to sell gold concentrate produced from its wholly-owned Bradshaw Gold Deposit, which is part of the Timmins gold camp, to Shandong Humon Smelting (“Humon”) of China.

“We are extremely pleased to receive the support of such a significant and well-established Chinese company in what is the beginning of a long-term, working relationship,” said Greg Romain, Gowest’s President and CEO. “Also, as a second source of financial support, this agreement provides further validation of what we have achieved to date as well as the potential of Gowest’s assets.”

February 18, 2018 Bold Ventures pursue Lithium mining in Northern Ontario

Bold Ventures Inc., a company better known for its involvedment in the exploration in the area known as The Ring of Fire has annonounced it is now also pursuing lithium - a mineral vital for manufactturers of electric car batteries.

Bold Ventures announced the acquisition of two separate claim groups located within the Georgia Lake Area Pegmatite field. The Jean Claim Group consists of 8 claims comprising 94 units covering an area of approximately 1,504 hectares (3,716 acres) and the Barbara Claim Group consists of 2 claims comprising 32 units covering an area of approximately 512 hectares (1,265 acres).


February 16, 2018 For IAMGOLD Bigger is not always better

Steve Woolfenden IAMGOLD’s VP of Operations gave a promising update in Timmins yesterday to its Cȏté Lake Gold Mine Project just off Highway 144 north of Gogama and the Mattagami First Nation.

It was the first of three open houses in the area with additional open houses held in Sudbury (Feb. 14) and Gogama (Feb.15)

Woolfenden told the Timmins open house construction will begin in January 2019 and bring an estimated 1,000 jobs during the construction phase. An additional 400 to 500 jobs permanent jobs will be created when the mine is fully operational in 2021.
