Fuel Storage Facilities

Story Environmental Inc. provides environmental services during the removal of underground fuel storage tanks (gasoline, diesel, fuel, oil, waste oil etc.) Our personnel are present during the excavation activities to collect representative soil and groundwater samples and ensure that the sampling and assessment requirements of the Technical Standard & Safety Authority ("TSSA") Environmental Management Protocol, August 2012 are achieved. A technical report is prepared by a "Qualified Person" at SEI and, if impact is discovered at a site, a Contaminant Management Plan ("CMP") is also developed and submitted for approval to the TSSA. Once the CMP is approved, SEI implements the plan and addresses the reporting requirements. In some cases, where the likelihood of an off-site adverse effect is possible, the regulatory lead is transferred to the Ministry of Environment.
