Fine Ore Feeder High Wear Floor Liners
Challenge
Customer was experiencing high wear on their fine ore feeders at their loading pockets and had to change 1” 500 grade liners every 360,000 tonnes representing 8 months of production.
Engineered Solution
After carefully observing and studying the wear patterns of the piece of equipment, Carriere Industrial custom designed rubber ceramic liners with 2 different shapes of ceramic specifically located in the highest wear areas to maximize the wear life of the floor liners on the feeder.
Results
• Increased liner wear life from 360,000 tonnes to 2,800,000 tonnes across a set of floor liners
• Change out is now every 5 years versus 8 months with tradition layout
• Savings of 336 man hours with design changes
• Effectively decreased the customer costs by 75% over the life of one set of ceramic floor liners
