The Aitken Centre is the home of our Varsity Reds Men's hockey team. Campus Recreation also uses the facility for its intramural hockey program.
 
The BMO Centre is home to the Varsity Reds soccer team, the URec Red Bombers football team, and other club sport teams. In the winter, a dome is inflated to cover the field allowing the Centre to be used throughout the year.
 
Varsity Reds highlights:
• Our men’s hockey team has won three Canadian national championships within the last five years.
• Some of our UNB grads have gone on to play in the NHL.
• Our Varsity athletes spend hundreds of volunteer hours serving the local community.

Student Services
 


Built in 1829, Sir Howard Douglas Hall, commonly referred to as "The Old Arts Building", is the oldest university building still in continuous use in Canada.
 
The first lecture in Civil Engineering was offered here, earning it the distinction of being the “birthplace of Civil Engineering in Canada”.

Academic Employment Opportunity

The Department of Anthropology at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in socio-cultural anthropology at the rank of Assistant Professor, with a preferred effective start date of July 1, 2016, subject to final budgetary approval. Alumni Advancement Officer - Strategic Engagement

Reporting to the Executive Director of the UNB Associated Alumni, the Alumni Advancement Officer plays a lead role in the development and implementation of the Marketing and Communications strategy in support of the five-year Alumni Engagement Plan, and provides marketing and communications support to the Alumni office, including initiative-specific marketing communications campaigns and collateral.

Electron Microscopist/Confocal Microscopist

This position is responsible for operation and training of users of light (confocal, wide-field epifluorescence, and various transmitted light modalities) and electron beam (both transmission and scanning) microscopes in a multi-user facility.  Users are from throughout the Faculty of Science, as well as other fields and industry, but predominantly from the biological sciences.
