As far as environmental protection is concerned, Sika’s global initiatives and solutions focus on four clearly identified challenges:

For Sika, sustainability is an ongoing process and it is effectively integrated into management and business methods, research and development strategy, marketing and sales activities, not to mention production processes and collaboration across company lines. As of today, more than 50 Sika companies worldwide operate in conformity with the Environmental Management System ISO 14001.
 

We allocate a substantial amount of time and energy to ensuring that the products we develop are as environmentally-friendly as possible and contribute to a sustainable future. As a supplier serving the new construction and renovation sectors, we research, develop and manufacture material systems applicable from 'roof to floor’ and all with the welfare of the environment in mind. Sika’s contribution not only aims at safeguarding the built environment but also at preserving the natural one.

• Recycled or recyclable, energy-smart, solar paneled or 'green' roofing membranes

• Admixtures that reduce water and energy demands, and allow the use of recycled aggregates or excavated material in new concrete

• Glazing sealants especially developed to seal argon filled insulating glass and permit 20% energy savings

• Adhesives, joint sealants and protective coatings dedicated to the construction and durability of concrete wind turbines and towers

• Resins, mortars and coatings for water industry facilities to repair and protect against water contamination and to retain water stocks

Sika Canada Inc. recognized the importance of providing sustainable products some years ago, obtaining ISO 14001 for environmental management systems in 1999.  Since then, we have devoted considerable attention and resources to ensuring that our products are as environmentally-friendly as possible and contribute to a sustainable future. As a 'full range' supplier within new build and renovation sectors, we research, develop and manufacture material systems applicable from 'roof to floor’ and all with the welfare of the environment in mind.
