In 1988 David Alexander founded a company called Mindecom which specialized in mine decommissioning. Eventually David and his sons Matt and Mark spun off Mine Source Inc. which rapidly developed into one of the most trusted names in mine asset sourcing and liquidation. Through the years Mine Source Inc. developed a specialization in capital assets such as Ball Mills, Rod Mills, SAG Mills, in addition to complete Plants.

Building on its position as a global leader in marketing and selling surplus mining equipment, Mine Source Inc. pioneered the first web-based auction facility exclusively dedicated to the mining industry. Mine Source Auctions is an efficient and transparent way for mining companies to dispose of and acquire surplus mining related equipment equipment.
