Professor, Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship Program

Position Type: Part Time
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Journey Person Electrician: Construction & Maintenance 309A or Electrician Apprentice
- Minimum of two years’ experience working in residential/industrial/commercial environment
- Computer literacy and excellent organization, interpersonal and communication skills are required
- Previous teaching experience an asset
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver lessons covering Level 1 introductory level curriculum to Pre-Apprenticeship students over an eight-week period
- Teach theory in class and practical projects in the Commerce Court Campus lab
- Respond to student needs
- Fulfill all duties required of a faculty member
- Liaise with the Lab Technologist on the practical portion of the Electrician courses
Lead - Indigenous Poverty Reduction Education Program (IPREP)
- Responsible for project management support to the Manager of Community Based and Contract Training by using the Client Impact Model to implement the project
- Establish community out-reach and act as the primary liaison from the IPREP between the College, First Nation Communities, and employers
TECHNOLOGIST – DENTAL HYGIENE PROGRAM
- Supervise and guide students in the Dental Hygiene program to meet the learning outcomes of skills and assessment courses in a clinic setting
- Plan, organize, and conduct demonstrations, explaining correct procedures, skills, and theoretical principles
GENERALIST, ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT & TALENT MANAGEMENT
Reporting to the Director, Organizational Development & Talent Management (ODTM), the Generalist is accountable for providing a range of human resources functions supporting the College’s strategic plan and the implementation of short and long-term projects.
Technician – Dental Hygiene Program
- Collaborate with students and colleagues to provide an optimal learning environment
- Work with community agencies and dental offices to recruit patients for student clinical labs
