Up to 24 hours/week, $23.42/hour
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • National Dental Assisting Level II Board Certificate
  • Two (2) years of clinical dental assisting practice within the past five (5) years
  • Active membership in professional associate preferred
  • Dental Assistant/Dental Receptionist experience
  • Current CPR & First Aid Certifications
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Dentrix Electronic Software experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to network with the dental community and the community at large
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible for support hours including evening shifts/clinics
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Collaborate with students and colleagues to provide an optimal learning environment
  • Work with community agencies and dental offices to recruit patients for student clinical labs
  • Provide support to faculty and students in the clinical lab

Lead - Indigenous Poverty Reduction Education Program (IPREP)
  • Responsible for project management support to the Manager of Community Based and Contract Training by using the Client Impact Model to implement the project
  • Establish community out-reach and act as the primary liaison from the IPREP between the College, First Nation Communities, and employers
TECHNOLOGIST – DENTAL HYGIENE PROGRAM
  • Supervise and guide students in the Dental Hygiene program to meet the learning outcomes of skills and assessment courses in a clinic setting
  • Plan, organize, and conduct demonstrations, explaining correct procedures, skills, and theoretical principles
GENERALIST, ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT & TALENT MANAGEMENT

Reporting to the Director, Organizational Development & Talent Management (ODTM), the Generalist is accountable for providing a range of human resources functions supporting the College’s strategic plan and the implementation of short and long-term projects.

Technician – Dental Hygiene Program
  • Collaborate with students and colleagues to provide an optimal learning environment
  • Work with community agencies and dental offices to recruit patients for student clinical labs
Professor, Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship Program
  • Deliver lessons covering Level 1  introductory level curriculum to Pre-Apprenticeship students over an eight-week period
  • Teach theory in class and practical projects in the Commerce Court Campus lab
