Reporting to the Operation Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for supervising the manufacturing of different components to ensure compliance with technical drawings, client specifications and applicable standards according to SGS procedures.
 
The incumbent will perform various tasks related to the supervision of manufacturing processes, such as progress reports, witness testing, welding, dimensional, pre-shipment, and loading inspections on a short-, medium-, and long-term basis.
 
  • Perform tasks specified by his/her supervisor and/or department coordinator;
  • Identify and analyse customer needs;
  • Plan and prepare work to be completed onsite at the client’s location (documents, equipment);
  • Ensure that all equipment necessary is in proper working condition and that the calibration is still valid;
  • Consult with clients and/or suppliers to obtain information required for carrying out the work;
  • Coordinate actions with the client and/or supplier with regards to the manufacturer’s project schedule;
  • Ensure that onsite work completed at the client’s location is consistent with the mandate, is completed on time and is conducted in a professional manner with meticulous attention to detail in order to provide excellent service; 
  • Review quality plans provided by manufacturers and their subcontractors;
  • Review purchase orders intended for suppliers;
  • Review technical specifications;
  • Review test reports;
  • Verify the implementation of quality plans and applicable procedures;
  • Verify manufacturing compliance with drawings and technical specifications;
  • Perform visual and dimensional welding inspections according to the criteria specified in the quote;
  • Verify actual work progress;
  • Communicate with the client when requested by the manager and/or supervisor;
  • Complete the necessary quality forms related to monitoring or inspection work; 
  • Ensure that suppliers issue a non-conformance report and send it to the client if non-conformance is identified; 
  • Notify the client should non-conformance be identified at a work site;
  • Prepare non-conformance reports and forward them to the manufacturer when non-conformance is identified;
  • Participate in factory meetings when manufacturing quality is on the agenda;
  • Witness manufacturing testing and trial assemblies;
  • Prepare clear and concise reports within the prescribed time frames (usually 24 hours after completion);
  • Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, filing and photocopying documents and issuing certificates, complete special projects.
 
Qualifications
 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or metallurgy, or a college degree combined with significant and relevant experience may be considered as equivalent;
  • Experience: Five (5) to ten (10) years of supervisory experience in a factory;
 
Specific technical skills: 
 
  • W178.2 Welding Inspector Level II and NACE Level I or II coating inspection
  • The following skills are considered as important assets: Knowledge of machining, Qualified in non-destructive testing, ASME qualified (National Board, Authorized Inspection, Authorized Inspector Supervisor) and/or API qualified (510 – Pressure Vessels Inspector, 570 – Piping inspector or 936 – Refractory Inspector);
  • Knowledge of materials processing techniques;
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner. 
  • Candidates must be proficient in using various types of computer software (Word, Excel. PowerPoint & Outlook).
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
  • Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.
  • Ability to work well with others & independently. 
  • Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Extended hours and shift work may be required from time to time.
  • Travel to other SGS locations or client location may be required from time to time.

Senior Account Executive - Infrastructure

The Account Executive will be responsible for and prepare individual sales action plans, and tactics aligned with the overall sales strategy, target markets, and service off offerings to ensure a targeted and focused approach that will deliver on the overall growth strategy of the business and maximize profit. 

Project Controls Lead - Construction
  • Support project execution team on cost, time, schedule, change management and reporting for successful project executions
  • Integration of scope, cost, schedule and progress of the assigned projects
Lead Estimator - Construction
  • Develop the estimate preparation plan in line with the overall project strategy
  • Document in an organized and structured fashion the estimates of different options considered for the project.
Lead Cost Control - Construction
  • Provide input to the development of cost management project plan and related cost management procedures.
  • Participate in the preparation and review of the Project Cost Estimate.
Utilities Coordinator
  • Provide technical review and guidance to staff for the coordination of private and public utility relocation/installations.
  • Participate in negotiations with utility asset owners for relocating/installing utilities.
Construction Director
  • Review design documents and construction contract/procurement documents at key stages to ensure they are constructible and enforceable.
  • Provide input to reduce project costs and minimize the potential for disruptive delays and claims to complete Work on time, within budget, and to a level of quality requisite for each undertaking.
NDT - Rope Access Technicians
