Our Treasury group in Corporate office in Toronto is currently hiring a Treasury Analyst.

 

Job Description

 

• Work with a small, experienced treasury team responsible for the global risk management of Barrick Gold.

• Gain valuable exposure and practical experience over a broad spectrum of finance and treasury activities.

• Assist with the management of cash balances and wire transfers, ensuring that all treasury payments are made, all treasury accounts are adequately funded, and excess cash is appropriately invested.

• Book trades and run daily/weekly reports in Reval

• Ensure adherence with the compliance activities of the treasury department.

• Develop short and long-term detailed cash flow forecasts by entity.

• Determine short-term foreign currency requirements for treasury accounts.

• Perform analyses and compile regular and ad-hoc reports to management on the company’s metal, currency, energy and interest rate hedging programs.

• Monitor and report on developments in metals, currency, energy and interest rate markets, and on general economic and financial market trends.

• Liaise with back office function to ensure accuracy of spot and forward deals for metal, currency, energy and interest rate derivative instruments, including forwards, options and swaps.

• Review of external financial statements (and similar reports) prior to issuance to ensure accuracy of treasury-related items.

• Assist in the preparation of presentations to senior management and external stakeholders.

• Assist with capital market transactions as required.

• Other special projects and duties as required.

• Act as a liaison with Accounting, Tax, Legal and other departments.

 

 

Required Skills

 

• Professional designation (CA, CMA, CGA, CFA) preferred.

• Working knowledge of Bloomberg, Reuters, and Reval an asset, but not required.

• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

• Well organized, detail oriented, and reliable in any situation.

• Hard-working, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and willing to learn.

• Able to prioritize work, multi-task, and manage deadlines.

• General knowledge of financial markets, derivative instruments and accounting procedures an asset.
