The Shaft & Hoisting Area Manager provides leadership and coordination for all engineering and construction activities within the KGHM Victoria Site related to the Shaft and Hoisting Facilities. This position will manage, lead and provide the strategically long-term plans for shaft/hoisting, including reviewed project plans, sequences and long-term designs in order to ensure a successful and cost-effective operation. 

 
Requirements 
 
• A minimum of 8-10 years’ experience;
• Engineering degree from an accredited University;
• Involvement with large diameter and deep shafts with high production rates and the consequent range of ventilation, hoisting and headframe requirements;
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
• Excellent interpersonal abilities and willingness to work in a team atmosphere;
• High degree of job knowledge, leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and decision making skills.
 
 
Responsibilities 
 
• Prepare, plan and monitor long-term plan project designs and prepare that the projects can realistically assure production targets according to determined goals and plans;
• Build, manage and coordinate effective and consistent interactions with long-term planning group and current operations (e.g. reviewing designs, specifications and critical aspects of the project) to ensure that it is a clear understanding and prevent misunderstanding in communication that would have impact on the design, implementation and development of the project;
• Monitor, provide and keep an updated schedule, estimation and milestones based on current status for all projects;
• Implement realistic planning and scheduling of long-term activities based on controlling they Key Performance • Indicators to optimize the efficiency of manpower and company resources;
• The design aspects of this position include:
     ○ Mine hoist system design, specification and selection;
     ○ Headframe and surface hoisting infrastructure design;
     ○ Shaft and related infrastructure design.
• Ensure planning, implementation and management of KGHM Victoria Project Mine site are delivered in line with the project objectives and guidelines of the major stakeholders;
• Ensure that the Victoria Management Team are involved with the Shaft & Hoisting delivery team and that the Shaft & • Hoisting delivery team clearly understand their roles and responsibilities and are trained in the site safety and environmental requirements;
• Provide leadership, coordination, motivation and continuous training in the construction management system for the Shaft & Hoisting delivery team;
• Support the S & H delivery team with staffing requirements;
• Support the site Managers with the on-site and off-site approval process ensuring they are coordinated closely with the planned construction program;
• Support the contracts department with outside contractor selection;
• Ensure the project safety regulations, project health and safety manual, quality assurance/control, HR programs and site procedures are established by all parties and maintained on the Project;
• Lead the reporting on the status on safety, quality, schedule and cost of the Victoria Mine project to the Project • Manager & Senior Management at weekly and monthly review meetings;
• Assist the site managers in the implementation of all policies and procedures set out by the KGHM senior management team.
