Northern Cartage Division
As Gardewine Group Inc.’s custom contract hauling division, Northern Cartage offers dedicated long distance or local cartage service for our customers.
Northern Cartage commenced operations in the mid-70’s in Manitoba, operating under the name Northern Leasing, created to accommodate companies that did not want to own and operate a private fleet. After deregulation of the trucking industry in Manitoba, Northern Leasing was renamed Northern Cartage.
Today, in addition to our location in Winnipeg, Northern Cartage now has locations in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta; and Regina, Saskatchewan.
With a fleet that includes single and multi-temp reefers, and dry vans, Northern Cartage has the expertise to transport a range of commodities for our clients including retail, wholesale, grocery, fresh, frozen, and time-sensitive products. This division also provides tractor service for the railway, transporting throughout western Canada.

Trailer/Tractor Mechanic
Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, this position is responsible for all types of routine maintenance on our Tractor fleet.
Forman Dock
The Foreman will carry out all the supervisory activities of the cross dock operation through a team of dockworkers and lead hands; additionally, the Foreman will partner with the terminal support team and drivers to ensure operational excellence.
Local Deck Driver
Our Flat Deck Driver is responsible for completing all types of flat deck freight deliveries and pickups.
