Northern Mat and Bridge LP recognizes the importance of an effective safety program. There are great financial and personal losses, the greatest being the human loss. By protecting our employees we are also protecting their families, friends, fellow workers, the public and the environment.
 
Northern Mat and Bridge LP believes through personal commitment, active participation, and working together, we can all share in the benefits of a safe workplace. Recognizing that dedicated employees and contractors are the key to reaching our goal of zero incidents, a successful safety culture, and implementation of safe work practices; NMB invests time, energy and resources to ensure a quality, safe, and productive workforce.
 
Northern Mat and Bridge currently subscribes to the following compliance programs - ComplyWorks, ISN, and Pics Auditing. Northern Mat and Bridge LP has participated in the Alberta COR program since 2004, currently sits on the Grande Prairie Regional Safety Committee for the Alberta Construction Safety Association, participates in the Alberta Motor Transportation Association, and the Canadian Society for Safety Engineers.
 
 
Corporate Health and Safety Policy
 
NMB proudly offers a comprehensive program for each of our employees, supervisors, and managers. Ensuring our employees are competent operators, drivers, and supervisors. Hands on training and evaluations are conducted for each position at NMB. See pictures attached to be included (Minhas training yard).
 

Northern Mat and Bridge LP employees and contractors are required to have to following safety training certificates:
• TDG/WHMIS
• Level C CPR/AED BC and Alberta First Aid
• Ground Disturbance – Supervisor Level 2
• CSTS or PST with WHMIS endorsement
• H2S Alive
• NMBL Specific H2S Monitor Training
• SPOT Use and  Working Alone Training
• Wilderness Awareness
• Fire Extinguisher Training
• GODI (Truck Drivers only)
• Logbook and Hours of Service

Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician (Shop & Field work)

Reporting to the Shop Manager, the Heavy Equipment Technician is responsible for providing the maintenance and services needs of all Northern Mat & Bridge equipment. 

Mat Plant Labourer

Reporting to the Plant Manager & Plant Supervisor, the Mat Plant Labourer is responsible for the production in their area of the mat plant facility.

Shuttle Operator – DZ License Required

Reporting to the Field Supervisor, the Shuttle Operator provides support in the field with a shuttle vehicle.

Field Supervisor

Reporting to the General Superintendent, the Field Supervisor leads and provides support in the field to assigned projects.
