INDUSTRIAL LADDERS

AERIAL SAFETY CAGE

Industry regulations require ladder users working above a certain height to tie off to a suitable anchor point before they can work with both hands. In some circumstances, these standards are often difficult or even impossible to keep, and often result in operators working in unsafe positions. We engineered the Little Giant Cage adjustable enclosed platform to be a versatile, safe alternative to tying off. The Cage is constructed of nonconductive, high-strength fiberglass-resin composite. The Cage is fully adjustable in one-foot increments, allowing the operator to adjust the platform height to the job at hand. Each side adjusts independently, so operators can also use the Cage over uneven surfaces or stairs, where a mechanical lift or ordinary stepladder could never go. And the Cage protects operators in a fully enclosed working platform, allowing them to work safely and quickly with two hands while complying with industry regulations. Time- and energy-saving Tip & Glide™ Wheels make it quick and easy to move from job to job. The Cage is also available with optional Wheel Lift™ Casters that allow you to easily move the Cage from place to place while fully deployed.

LEDGELOCK AUTO TIE-OFF SYSTEM

The transition point between the ladder and the roof is where some of the most catastrophic ladder accidents take place. Ordinary extension ladders are neither designed nor tested for the act of stepping to the side when at the top of the ladder. ANSI and OSHA guidelines require ladders to extend three feet above the roof line, but these accidents still happen.

The LedgeLock Auto Tie-Off System™, used with the Claw fastening system on Little Giant extension ladders, will end catastrophic ladder-to-roof and roof-to-ladder transition falls.

The adaptable LedgeLock simply and securely mounts to a roof or platform. The operator secures the Claw mechanism while standing safely on the ground and steps safely through the Walkthrough to access the roof, maintaining three points of contact the entire time.

The operator never steps to the side, and the ladder cannot shift at the critical point at which the operator transitions from roof to ladder or from ladder to roof. The Walkthrough offers a sturdy, secure handle for the operator as he or she mounts and dismounts the ladder.

When the job is done, the operator simply disengages the Claw mechanism and removes the ladder. The LedgeLock Roof Mount remains on the structure for next time. The LedgeLock Auto Tie-Off System not only save lives, but it also allows innovative, safety-conscious architects, designers, and property owners to remove unsafe, unsightly fixed ladders from the exterior of their buildings.

OVERHAUL

The Little Giant Overhaul™ ladder system was designed by firefighters for firefighters. The Overhaul ladder extends to 17 feet but is small enough to carry into an elevator, up a flight of stairs, or around tight corners. The ladder is just 4 foot 7 inches tall when retracted.

The Overhaul has been engineered to combat all the unique challenges that firefighters have to face every day:

Ratchet™ Levelers – Working on unlevel ground due to slope or debris? Ratchet Levelers adjust in seconds to provide an even, level setup over an uneven surface or debris. Ratchet Levelers are specifically designed to be easy to operate while wearing heavy firefighting gloves and boots.

Roof & Rafter Hooks – The Overhaul Ladder is equipped with folding roof and rafter hooks that allow firefighters to hook the ladder to a rafter or truss to help prevent the ladder from “slipping out” from underneath while firefighters work during overhaul and other operations.

High-Visibility – Each rung on the Overhaul Ladder is equipped high-viz reflective labels and Little Giant’s exclusive Safety Insight™ photo-luminescent strips to help identify rung location in low light conditions. This durable material glows for up to 16-hours when charged, is integrated into the rung, and will not rub off like tape.

Dual Position Spike Feet – Adjustable non-slip rubber feet provide stability on wet or slippery surfaces and flip down spike feet provide stability on grass, carpet and soft surfaces.

Easy Transport – The Overhaul Ladder is equipped with heavy duty casters for quick, easy transport.

Easy Carrying – The Overhaul Ladder is designed to be extremely mobile and easy to move from place to place. It is equipped with a large, solid aluminum carrying handle that is easy to grip while wearing firefighter gloves.

Heat Sensing Technology – The Defender has special heat-sensing labels that indicate when the ladder has been exposed to too damaging temperatures and should be taken out of service.

NFPA Compliance

The Little Giant Overhaul ladder system is designed to meet the requirements of NFPA 1931-2015, Standard for Manufacturer’s Design of Fire Department Ground Ladders, and has been tested to the requirements of NFPA 1932-2015, Standard on Use, Maintenance, and Service Testing of In-Service Fire Department Ground Ladders.

Little Giant’s Overhaul and Defender ladders are the only articulating ladder systems that meet the requirements of NFPA 1901-2009, Standard for Automotive Fire Apparatus, section 5.7.1.3 for pumpers, section 8.7.5 for ladder trucks, and section 9.7.1.3 for quints.

Insurance Services Office

The Little Giant Overhaul Ladder meets ISO requirements for credit on pumper and ladder apparatus.

SELECT STEP

Never feel nervous on a stepladder again! No matter how you set it up, the patent-pending Select Step™ provides a comfortable standing platform that offers heel-to-toe foot support at the top recommended step. The AirDeck workstation with handrail provides extra stability and eliminates feelings of vertigo while standing at the top of the Select Step. The AirDeck lets you focus on your work for better results and helps you work faster without worrying about losing your balance. The heavy duty rated, (Type IA – 300 lbs.) yet lightweight Safety Step can be used safely on stairs and uneven surfaces because both sides telescope independently. Hanging pictures or changing that impossible light bulb above the stairwell will never be easier.

SKYSCRAPER

When you have to reach extreme heights, the Little Giant SkyScraper is the economical and safe replacement for expensive lifts and scaffolding. Now you can reach the highest spots in churches, auditoriums, gymnasiums and in specialized industrial settings. The SkyScraper is especially useful when working around obstacles like benches and stadium seating. And because it’s portable, the SkyScraper can be used in places where a motorized lift or bulky scaffolding simply can’t go. The SkyScraper can handle virtually any industrial job: it is made of heavy-wall, aerospace-grade aluminum and is rated to hold up to 300 lbs. The SkyScraper is fully adjustable, reaching as high as 21 feet while storing in nearly half that.
